Uganda Papula Paper is a women-run Fair Trade organization located on the equator and employing single mothers, AIDS victims and the disabled. Products include jewelry, note cards, albums, stationary and picture frames—all made of recycled paper and/or plant materials. NCP is their principle international contact.

And giving a gift of our Special Projects is like giving twice—the recipient feels honored and our neighbors are given a hand in creating a better life. Does it get any better than that! Give a Girl a Chance: Girls' Education & Women's Development
Girls' Education In many areas of the world, education is often limited or unavailable for girls. Yet an educated girl will likely have fewer and healthier children, less chance of dangerous and demeaning work or of contracting AIDS, and more chance of a happy and fulfilling life. They are often kept from school by gender bias, safety concerns, personal hygiene issues, and poverty. All too often, this Nepali saying sums up the situation: "To be born a daughter is a lost life." We're working with or partners in Burma, Sudan and Nepal to change that! Help us give these girls a chance! $20 = a year's school materials Any amount = good news for girls! |
Women's Development
Women play a critical role in the well-being of their families, yet often lack opportunities to develop their skills or have the tools they need for a productive life. NCP's partners in Sudan, Nepal, and El Salvador offer skill training, material aid like sewing machines and gardening equipment, micro loans, and other avenues for women's self-development.

$400 = month-long tailoring workshop
If a Tree Falls... Preserving rainforest in the Amazon and restoring forests in Central America and Sudan are the goals of the If a Tree Falls ... program. Every year, the world loses some 25 million acres of forests to firewood, paper production, and cornfields and cattle ranches.
