Care for Creation -
Study Resources Operation: Creation is a 5-session elementary-age curriculum created by NCP's Barb Holtz. Great for Vacation Bible School or other short-term learning setting. Includes stories, activities, snack ideas. Just revised! God's Earth, Our Home Sunday School lessons for children through youth. We Americans spend $30 billion a year on 50,000 square miles of lawn. "Why do we see weeds as an enemy we must kill or subdue for the sake of the perfect lawn?" Click here to read Norman Wirzba's complete reflective article on Lethal Lawn Care. Carol Lena Miller's To Till and To Keep offers four sessions for adult learners on being better stewards of God's earth. Contact ncp@newcommunityproject.org for a printed booklet. David Radcliff's sermon " What's Fair is Fair " provides a justice-perspective on our care for--or abuse of--the earth. NCP staff offer workshops and retreats on topics such as: living more with less; a Christian witness in a consumer society; threats to the vitality of God's earth; earth-keeping as a justice issue--or a topic of your choosing related to taking care of the earth. A background paper describes global warming as a justice concern as well as an environmental crisis. Students wanting information on energy conservation for a school project can find it in a Q and A between David Radcliff and Gabe Dodd. |
