A decent chance for a decent life—that’s what people everywhere deserve, yet millions of our neighbors are denied it.

Armed with a microloan funded by a grant from NCP and administered by Tin Maung of our partner organization (background), these young women from Byu Chaung village in the delta region of Burma are planning to become rice brokers. Justice is elusive for many in our world, and especially the poor, women and girls, native people, and those caught by the tentacles of globalization. The New Community Project seeks to speak for and stand with these neighbors, helping them attain to the quality of life everyone deserves.

How we care for and draw from the earth is a matter of justice, as the over-consumption of the few affects the well-being of the many as well as of the earth itself.

Globalization has created a wealthy global elite and a much larger global underclass—disrupting families, driving down wages, putting profit over people at every turn.  That’s not justice—that’s just us. In our own small way, NCP is working to offer an alternative to these forces in our partner communities around the world.
