The Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal is replete with natural beauty and ancient traditions, which has for decades attracted tourists to come back and experience the beauty, the ethnic mix and the diverse landscape of Nepal. But people fail to notice the ubiquitous poverty and the desperate living conditions faced by at least half of the population of Nepal. With a per-capita income of only US$220, the lowest in South Asia and with close to 11 million Nepalese earning less than US$1 a day, Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. Access to nutritious food, health facilities, sanitary living conditions and education is limited in Nepal. Founded in 2004, One World Foundation (OWF), Nepal based membership organization is committed towards peaceful brotherhood, social justice/legal rights, education, empowering women/children, ICT, volunteerism and other social and environmental programmes all over the World. OWF focuses on practical based work and create a ground level platform for those people who fall within our mission. We are in search of new challenges and build a wider perspective to work more practically, efficiently and result orienting. OWF is fully committed towards its work and would like to join hand with that like-mind people and like-mind organization that is ready to face new challenges.
OWF - Mission
OWF - Target Group The activists, members, participants and volunteers of OWF are mostly from rural and urban regions. The key target age groups that we serve are between 18 - 35 years who requires adequate information, opportunities and access to resources. Gender equality will be monitored and oversee while opting key participants, with equal opportunity in all kinds of activities. Main focus areas will be women and children. The organization will launch several programmes for children out of school, victims of conflict, children at risk and women in crisis. Disabled and handicapped children/youths will be incorporated in the organization, allowing for their career development. This exposure will builds their confidence and help them to establish as respected citizens of their community. OWF - Sustainability We would like to run our organization through the mobilization of local resources and local fundraising. But it is not quite possible at the present due to the poor economic instability of Nepal, Nepalese people and the Nepalese government. Thus, we are indeed searching donations from the international community for fixed projects and the overall development of the organization. OWF is struggling in its infant stage and our current financial needs are focused on organizational strengthening human resource development and partnership action for grassroots to international initiatives. Similarly, we are also looking for potential individuals and organizations for long-term partnerships and the sharing of ideas and experiences. OWF - Network and Partner Organization
